…otherworldly vocals and sophisticated guitar. Dually grand are Beltranena’s charged words and impeccable song-smithing. Her falsetto is tear inducing and goose bump activating... Beltranena’s voice is truly in a special class

Bright Raven’s crystalline voice soars over her sophisticated and soulful songwriting. Compared often to Jeff Buckley and Joni Mitchell, Bright is truly lyrical, her warm sound like a golden backdrop for the captivating imagery of her words. In addition to her musical endeavors, Inés Beltranena (Bright Raven) is also a painter and a writer, with a focus on Magical-Realism, Fairytales, Myth, and Folklore.

Her upcoming single, Temple, is about loss, courage, and looking beast in the eye before walking into its belly. It is a dreamy soundscape of introspection and, ultimately, joy, produced by Akiyoshi Ehara of Oakland, California.

Her previous EP, Go, was described by Northwest Music Scene Review as “A swift and gentle juggernaut clearing a way…spellbinding in every motion and release.” Beltranena says, “’Go’ is a return to simplicity; it is about innate human value. Inés has two previous full-length records: The Northern Lights Are On… and The Seafloor, which were both released under the name Idea The Artist. (You can listen to her entire discography on the home page.)

Currently, Bright raven is working on another single, Jericho, with Portland’s own renowned multi-instrumentalist and producer, Tim Karplus, and preparing to record a new album with award-winning producer, Joby Baker (Alex Cuba, Mae Moore, Toni Childs.)
